Letters is the embodiment of a compilation of actual letters, written by Dawn Marie Bazemore, addressed to people she can no longer reach. Initially conceived during Bazemore's Choreographic Fellowship at Jacob's Pillow, the work explores fragmented relationships, profound loss and the sentiments that often go unsaid. Letters' power lies in how it captures the humanity that runs through personal experience. The writings, while deeply personal, represent a thread connecting a collection of personal queries to those faced by everyone regardless of time, culture or situation.
